Police at Mpraeso in the Eastern Region have apprehended two suspected armed robbers at Kwahu-Tafo.
The suspects, believed to be cattle herdsmen of Fulani descent had blocked a section of the Pitriku road and were allegedly robbing passengers and drivers.
Confirming the incident, Eastern Regional Police PRO, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh said the two suspects; Ibrahim Sambo and Suleiman Sambo and another person bolted into a nearby bush after police had rushed to the crime scene.
According to him, the police team pursued them and arrested 31-year-old Ibrahim Sambo who was armed with a single barrel short gun.
He says, the police also arrested one of the escapees, Sulleman Sambo, 21 with the assistance of the town folks early today.
The police boss stated that efforts are being made to arrest the last suspect who is currently on the run and requested victims of the weekend robbery on the Kwahu Tafo-Kwahu Pitiku to report to the police station to assist in investigations.
