Two teenage boys who attacked and robbed a barber at Kronum in the Suame Municipality, have been remanded into prison custody by a Kumasi circuit court.

Patrick Oti, a petty trader, and Kingsley Agyei, a student pleaded not guilty to the charges and would reappear before the court on July 1, this year.

Their accomplice, identified as Nana Yaw is on the run and the police have mounted a search for him.

Police Chief Inspector Joe Debrah, told the court presided over by Mr. Ali Baba Abature that the complainant was a barber and resident of Kronum, while the suspects are also residents in the same community.

He said on June 3, this year, at about 2330 hours, the complainant who had closed from work was attacked by the suspects with scissors at a spot near the Kronum cemetery.

The prosecution said they robbed him of his mobile phone valued at GHc 350.00 and a necklace also valued at GHc 400.00.

Chief Inspector Debrah said after the attack the complainant went home and came back to the vicinity to look for the culprits.

He said he saw Patrick Oti at the Kronum lorry station and identified him as one of the attackers.

The prosecution said the complainant managed to get information of the residence of Oti and on June 6, this year, traced him to the house and collected the phone.

He said the complainant afterwards, lodged a report at the Kronum police station and Oti was arrested.

Mr debrah said the suspect then led the police to arrest the second suspect while the third managed to escape.

Inspector Debrah said the suspects admitted the offence and they were charge and brought before the court.
