Ghana’s U20 side, the Black Satellites and their Malian counterparts have been left stranded at the Niamey International Airport enroute to Maradi, according to reports.
The two teams are on their way to their base in Maradi ahead of the kickoff of the U20 AFCON on Saturday.
According to the media officer of the Black Satellites, David Ofori, the two teams have been waiting at the airport since 10am.
“We were told to reach the airport at 10:00am Niger time and board the flight at 12 noon per the arrangement of the LOC and CAF.
“As of now, the teams at the moment do not know when they’re flying to Maradi,” he added.
CAF and the LOC in Niger are yet to respond to the plight of the Ghanaian and Malian sides.
Ghana and Mali will play their group matches in Maradi.
