UK-Based Ghanaian Society Donates ?5m to SSS

The London Branch of Wiamoase Citizens Association, under the leadership of Rt. Rev. Dr. Kwaku Frimpong-Manso (founder and leader of Born Again Evangelistic Ministry International), has donated ?5million towards the construction of a boys' dormitory complex at Okomfo Anokye Secondary School at Wiamoase/Ashanti.

This solemn but impressive ceremony took place at the Presbyterian Church. Present at the ceremony was the MP for the Afigya Sekyere East, Hon. Kwasi Akomea Kyeremanteng. In a short speech, the MP called on all assembly members to be proactive and work hard to solve the problems confronting their electoral areas, instead of always waiting for him to come and solve them.

He asserted that being an assembly member is a sacrificial job and those who have the erroneous impression of going to the Assembly to improve their present economic well being must discard such ideas. Making the presentation, Rev.

Dr. Kwaku Frimpong-Manso announced that the London branch has already donated almost ?50million towards development projects in the town for the past three years.

Rev. Manso urged all citizens who have relatives and children abroad to advise them to be concerned with the development of the town.

The MP later handed over the money to the headmaster of the school, Mr. Kofi Anokye-Manu.

He thanked the association for their kind gesture and promised to use the money judiciously and efficiently towards the construction of the project. The ?5million donation to the school is coming in the wake of another donation of 100 bags of cement to the school by the Hamburg based Wiamoase Natives Association.
