Dr. Sekou Nkrumah, son of Ghana’s first president has waded into the UN report that indicts Ghana for harbouring forces loyal to the ousted Ivorian leader, Laurent Gbagbo in Takoradi in the Western region.
Sekou says Ghana does not have a hand in the Special Forces whom the UN Group of Experts report on Cote d’Ivoire indicates are planning to topple the Allasane Ouattara-led government from their base in Ghana.
He describes the report as sensational and does not reflect the situation on the ground.
Dr. Sekou Nkrumah told XYZ NEWS that the government cannot meddle in the affairs of Ivory Coast.
“I don’t think the government of Ghana will have any stake in trying to manipulate the situation in Cote d’Ivoire and decide who should form the government,” he said.
He said under President Mills, the situation with Cote d’Ivoire was well handled and does not think the situation has changed so much.
Sekou however urged President Mahama to direct the security agencies to investigate the matter.
