UNICOF member reveals grand plan against ADB Board et al

The Union of Industry, Commerce and Finance Workers (UNICOF) is in trouble.

The snag, which could cause the collapse of the adb local body – UNICOF, is that, some members are livid, having discovered that one of them had been accused to have allegedly received $35,000 to get the union intensify its campaign towards the removal of the management of the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB), principally, the Managing Director (MD), Mr. Stephen Kpordzi and, the dissolution of the Board of Directors.

Speaking to The Informer on strict condition of anonymity, an official of UNICOF said; “we are reliably informed that the said official in the centre of the alleged $35,000 bribery case took $10,000 for his pocket use and gave out the remaining $25,000 for the organization of the group’s Press Conference and payments to some selected media houses to keep the agenda on the burner”.

According to the source, they have on countless occasions raised serious concerns regarding the credibility of some top management members of the UNICOF and so, were not surprised at all that allegations of such a gargantuan nature is being leveled against some of them.

Asked by the paper to mention the said bank official alleged to have taken the bribe, the source declined; but said, “I can tell you on authority that some of our members have appeared before the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), and more are yet to be quizzed in connection to the bribery allegation”.

“Is it not pathetic that, just days after we have accused IMANI Ghana of compromising its principled stand because of its support for the financial institution under reference to list on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GES), bribery allegations are being leveled against some of our members?

Do we have the moral authority to question someone’s credibility any longer?” it queried.

‘In fact, with the bribery allegations now all over, it will be difficult to deny the fact that the group was not doing the bidding of some people who are hell-bent on seeing the back of the Managing Director of the ADB and, by extension, have the board dissolved,” the official confessed.

“At least, some of us have conscience and cannot continue with our attacks on the management of the financial institution and the board – just to benefit some unscrupulous ones in our midst.

If shove comes to push, we will just spill the beans as we tell the world and for that matter the good people of this country, how the UNICOF got involved in this whole ADB saga,” the source concludes.

Credible information reaching this paper indicates that Kwesi Twum’s Joy FM is seeking to apologise to the management of ADB for some lies the media outfit have spewed about it (ADB) since the saga broke out.

According to our trusted sources, the presenter of Super Morning Show, Kojo Yankson, got in touch with a member of the bank’s management, to try and render a private apology, but was rebuffed and asked to publicly apologise with the same platform he used in soiling the reputation of the ADB, as an entity, and the individual management members they targeted for destruction.
