News Desk Report
Though, it has never been in doubt that the world super-powers, notably the United State of America (U.S.A) and the Great Britain, as well as International bodies like the United Nations (UN) and African Union (AU), have endorsed the leadership style of His Excellency President John Evans Mills and would want him to continue with his good work, the events at the just-ended G8 summit at Camp David, USA, has finalized at last.
The strategic position offered President John Mills during the G8 meeting, in which he was sandwiched in-between the two most powerful world leaders, Barrack Obama and David Cameron (presidents of US and Britain respectively), undeniably, was a tacit indication that he has been endorsed by this great leaders to continue in office as the President of the Republic of Ghana, so he can fight the drug menace that, years ago, soiled the reputation of this country.
Aside the above, credible information picked up by The Informer from the G8 summit has it that, both Presidents (Obama and David Cameron) have been pledging their unflinching support for His Excellency President Mills and have predicted massive victory for him as he seeks re-election, come this December.
According to this paper’s intelligence sources, these leaders want the re-election of President Mills so that together, they can bring about revolution in governance as far as constitutional democracy is concerned, apart from the strongest of determination on his part to make the Ghana the destination of the drug trade a thing of the past.
It is undisputable, however, that whiles President Mills was making frantic efforts with the support agencies of state to make Ghana unfriendly to the drug barons, the opposition New Patriotic Party’s (NPP’s) Presidential hopeful, Nana Akufo-Addo was busy recruiting convicted drug barons like Mr. Yaw Amfo-Kwakye to be the Chief of Staff in his government in the unlikely event that he gets the nod to lead Ghana.
Apart from Akufo-Addo’s strong affection for drug barons, these two Presidents have equally taken note of his lust for political power at “all cost” and how he has continued to incite his party followers to unleash mayhem on their political opponents in this year’s election, to the extent of some of them declaring war on the country and calling for tribal cleansing; and will never like to work with him as President.
