Accra, June 18, GNA - Members of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) withdrew their services on Monday, June 14 after a general meeting held on Friday, June 11 on the campus of the University of Ghana, Legon.
The National President of UTAG, Dr Dominic Edoh told the Ghana News Agency on Friday that UTAG members in the various Universities in Ghana were withholding their vital services, which include marking, grading and processing of examination results and attending Academic Board Meetings.
He said the withdrawal of services was to back their demand on the Government to restore the agreed salary levels that had not been implemented with immediate effect.
Meanwhile when GNA interviewed some of the students on campus, they said the withdrawal of services by UTAG members would not be effective since the Universities were not in session.
