... as 29 members defect to NPP
TWENTY-NINE staunch members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Kwabre District have called its quits with the party and joined the New Patriotic Party (NPP). They claim they have now seen the light. The defectors who were clad in NPP colours and danced to the tune of ?Osono nie, Kufuor nie? song, accused the NDC of deception and lies, having made them believe that they (defectors) would be offered jobs, but nothing of that sort happened. According to the turncoats, the NDC had nothing good to offer the good people of Ghana and the party?s appeal to Ghanaians to bring it back to power should not be taken serious.
president Kufuor who is also the presidential candidate of the NPP commended them for their decision to join the NPP and added that the government of the NDC ?killed? industries in the country, which could have offered jobs to most Ghanaian youth, yet complain of no money in the pockets of individuals.
He stated that a party devoid of intimidation, human rights abuses and autocracy like the NPP had decided to transform Ghana?s misfortune to reflect the then Gold Coast through growth in the private sector.
The NPP flagbearer noted that Positive Change Chapter One was used to lay a solid foundation for economic growth and the Chapter Two would accelerate growth when the mandate of leadership of the party is renewed.
He called on Ghanaians to support a second term of the NPP?s bid to guarantee sound economic footing for Ghanaians and better living standards for meaningful development next year, and with the advent of media pluralism in the country.
Later, he introduced the party?s parliamentary candidate for the area, Mr. Kofi Frimpong, to the people and called for massive support for him.
