Kuntanase (Ash), Dec. 17, GNA - The body of an unidentified man believed to have been murdered by unknown assailants was on Wednesday found in a valley near Abono in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District of Ashanti. Six children from Abono who had gone to the bush to search for firewood found the decomposing body with both legs tied together with a nylon rope.

Boateng, the District Police Commander said the assemblyman for Abono, Mr Adu Brempong reported the discovery of the body to the police at Kuntanase on Wednesday. He said the location of the body, which was about two kilometres away from the town and the tying of both legs suggested that the deceased might have been murdered somewhere and the body dumped into the valley.

ASP Boateng said the decomposing state of the body indicated that the body had been there for about a month now. He said investigations were underway to identify the assailants and the identity of the deceased and appealed to residents in the area to assist the police with information that could lead to the arrest of the culprits and the identification of the victim.
