A seventeen year-old girl died in a recent road crash that occurred on the Tarkwa-Bogoso road.
The deceased whose identity is yet to be established is about five feet tall and dark in complexion.
Superintendent of Police Madam Victoria Yamoah, Divisional Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) Commander in charge of Tarkwa, said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Tarkwa on Monday.
She said on May 27 at 1900 hrs, the suspect, Nicholas Afede, 40, was driving a Hyundai Taxi from Tarkwa towards Bogoso with four passengers on board.
The MTTD commander said on reaching a spot near Akotom, he knocked down the deceased who was walking from Bogoso towards the Tarkwa direction.
The victim sustained injuries and the suspect driver rushed her to the Tarkwa Municipal Hospital at Bogrekrom for treatment, but she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Superintendent Yamoah said Nicholas Afede came to report the incident at the Tarkwa police station.
She said the body has since been deposited at the same Hospital morgue.
The Divisional MTTD commander appealed to the public to contact the police if they have any information on the deceased.
