Unite to ensure victory, Kintampo NPP members told

Jema (B/A), Dec. 6, GNA - Mr Kwasi Adu Gyan, Brong Ahafo Regional First Vice Chairman of New Patriotic Party on Monday, appealed to two factions within the party in Kintampo South to unite to ensure a landslide victory in the 2008 elections. He expressed regret that some members of the party in the constituency were sowing seeds of discord that could affect the chances of the party.

Mr Gyan made the appeal at the opening of nominations for the constituency elections scheduled for Thursday, December 8 at Jema. He explained that the inactivity of the party in the constituency was as a result of power struggle and petty squabbles and this was giving their political opponents the chance to smear the achievements of the government.

Mr Gyan emphasized that the party faced a great task before the 2008 elections and advised members to demonstrate unity of purpose to win more members.

Mr Alfred Ofori Annye, Regional Youth Organiser, said the NPP was a strong party and would not tolerate attitudes that would affect its chances.

He urged members in the constituency to exhibit a sense of civility and help the party to retain power to sustain the pace of national development. Mr Annye urged the constituency executives to resolve the differences among members to avoid denting the image of the party.
