The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) has expressed dissatisfaction with the ban on the use of electrical gadgets on University campuses. It, however, acknowledged that some gadgets are likely to cause harm if care is not taken. However, fridges and television sets are necessary. This is because students must store their food and have access to information, education and entertainment which are not accessible in the small Junior Common Rooms. In a statement, NUGS recommended the formation of energy and waste management committees on university campuses to regulate the use of such gadgets rather than banning their use. It appealed to students to exercise restraint while efforts are being made to find an amicable solution to the problem.
End.
