Unscrupulous contractors warned

Kumasi, Aug 03, GNA- Mr Sam Cudjoe, the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has stated that the government would not tolerate lukewarm attitudes or activities of unscrupulous contractors whose agenda were to thwart the efforts of the government.

He has therefore warned that any contractor who knows that he or she is not capable to execute any contract awarded to him should not bid for a contract at all.

Mr Cudjoe, who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Kumasi, added that, "No equipment, no contract". He emphasised that NPP government noted for true democracy and good governance, would not therefore protect any selfish contractor and called on other political parties to appreciate the good work of the government.

Mr Cudjoe assured the people of Ashanti region that the Asafo market interchange would be completed before the end of 2008.

He commended the government for providing boreholes, school infrastructures, capitation grant and the mass cocoa spraying exercise to improve the living condition of the people.
