The President of Aglow International, Gifty Afenyi-Dadzie, has called for drastic behavioural changes in Ghanaians if the country is to make any progress in its development process.

Speaking during a panel discussion on GTV on December 19, 2024, Afenyi-Dadzie indicated that some of the reasons Ghana is not making any progress in its development process include corruption, bribery, and embezzlement.

She pointed out that until these vices are dealt with, the country will continue to be underdeveloped.

“In 2 Chronicles 7:14, it says if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, seek my face and pray, and turn away from their wicked ways, then I, the Lord, will heal the land. So we stress on it because that is a caveat. If the land will progress, if the land will have development, then we have to do away with certain vices. So that at least we can be able to push the wheels of development and democracy forward.

“Until we eradicate corruption, bribery, misappropriation, embezzlement, galamsey, and for me, all the things that we talk about daily, until we make a conscious effort that we as Ghanaians will uphold the virtues or in the precepts of the Word of God, to be able to say that we are good citizens, this nation will not go forward,” she said.

The Aglow president indicated that her outfit has been touching on these issues at its programmes to help bring the needed change.

“That is why we keep on stressing that, listen, all of us must have a change of attitude. And if we don't do that and we pray, how can God listen?... So we keep on stressing and stressing. And I think that the whole of last year if you permit me, we did various programmes with various themes that highlighted some of the things that I’m talking about.”
