Update: Sacked Muntari weeps

Sulley Muntari and K.P Boateng have been asked by Coach Kwesi Appiah to leave the Black Stars camp in Brasilia after various acts of indiscipline that included a physical altercation with at least one Black Stars official.

Muntari and Boateng were served with their letters early on Thursday morning and asked to get ready for their departure from the camp.

While Kevin-Prince Boateng tweeted he was going home, Muntari reportedly wept when he was handed the letter by team manager Sarbah Quaye.

Muntari had a massive physical showdown with Moses Armah Parker last night while Kevin Prince Boateng was sacked for gross show of insubordination towards Kwesi Appiah.

Boateng had screamed four-letter expletives at Appiah in training on Sunday before he was ordered off by the coach.

The decision of the management team had been made long in advance but officials waited to hand them their appearance fees before delivering the devastating news.

The AC Milan star went on the rampage against the Medeama SC owner as the heat over unpaid appearance fees for the Black Stars at the 2010 World Cup got out of hand.

The two men exchanged punches before Muntari stormed the official’s room and destroyed a laptop computer and phones, according to reports.

It was the proverbial final nail in the coffin in the international career of a player whose name has gone hand in hand with controversy. And now the Ghana Football Association is determined to act once and for all.

And with that game out of the way, the Milan star will in all likelihood may have played his final game in a Ghana shirt.

He was saved the sack from Black Stars duty at the 2010 world cup after players stepped in on his behalf after persistently challenging the authority of Milovan Rajevac in South Africa.

Boateng has been a major problem for Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah at the tournament arguing over everything from hotels to questioning every decision at training.

On the morning of his massive confrontation with Appiah, Boateng told him in front of the players he had benched him while others played “stupid football.”
