Upper East NDC grateful to President Mahama

The Upper East Regional Branch of National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for nominating two distinguished personalities from the Region for ministerial positions.

Alhaji Mumuni Bolnaba, NDC’s Regional Chairman said the President had done the Region proud and that the people could not have expected anything more.

“We are most grateful to the President for doing the Region a great honor by appointing two of our sons to serve in his Government”, he told the Ghana News Agency in an interview.

He said he was hopeful that the President would recognise other hardworking sons and daughters of the Region and give them the opportunity to serve in his Government to aid the speedy development of the area.

The NDC Regional Chairman expressed optimism that the President would find the experience and drudgery of Mr Moses Asaga, former Member of Parliament for Nabdam and Mr John Akologo Tia, former Member of Parliament for Talensi useful to his Administration.

He also prayed that the President would notice the efforts of Mr Stephen Atubiga who in spite of the agitation of Binduri youth to contest the parliamentary election as an independent candidate held onto the Party’s interest and rescinded the decision leading to the NDC winning the seat.
