Upper West NDC extends condolences to Mrs. Mills and family

The Upper West Regional Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has on behalf of members of the regional branch of the party, extended its condolences to the former First Lady, Mrs. Ernestina Naadu Mills and the entire family of the late President J. E. A. Mills.

In a statement signed by Mr. Abubakar Mutiu-Rahman, the Regional Youth Organizer of the Party, the Regional Executives said they received news about the sudden demise of the late President with shock and believed his death was an irreplaceable loss to the nation.

The statement described President Mills as a man of immeasurable integrity, who served his country in various capacities with great humility, truth and diligence.

It said the late President would forever be remembered for his high level of democratic tolerance and love for peace.

According to the statement, the death of the President was a great loss to the region because he openly showed his belief in the human capital of the region, which was manifested diversely in his appointments.

“We received our fair share of national development during the three and half years of your reign as President of Ghana. As a region, we will forever remain grateful and indebted to you even as you rest in peace with your Lord,” the statement said.

“Even as we mourn your demise in sorrow, we will find solace in your unbeatable, impeccable and unprecedented record of achievements as a President in less than four years,” it added.

The statement further pledged that the late President’s legacies of humility and democratic tolerance would forever be uplifted and upheld at all times in the party as a tribute to him.**
