Information available from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) reveals how the Chief Fire Officer has prepared a juicy retirement package for himself at the detriment of rank and file.
Dr Albert Brown-Gaisie who is currently in a ‘wheelchair’ will be retiring on one hundred (100) percent of his basic salary per his own retirement package flying at the headquarters of the service in Accra.
The retiring officer shall be entitled to a vehicle and a steward whist his other senior colleagues and those before him wallow in poverty.
This paper has learnt per package he shall have a free medical care at any government hospital.
The package says he will be entitled to service burial upon his death.
The retirement package foisted down the throat of the service and Okayed by his cohorts in management, he shall retain or have the following accoutrements for keeps: Mess kits, ceremonial uniform, number one service dress and any other service property that may be deemed fit.
Per the package, the Chief Fire Officer shall have pull-out ceremony from the Service and accorded a farewell reception a novelty in the service.
According to the information, the rank and file of the service particularly; two top brass, he made to face the Fire Service Council to be bored off on health grounds are not happy with the juicy retirement package.
The Chief Fire officer shall be given a parting gift: a set of furniture (befitting the status), 42” LCD/LED Television, Power Generator (Honda, Japan made) –7.5KVA, Six (6) Burner Gas Cooker (Bosch), Deep Freezer – LG 750 Volts and poly tank.
The severance package of the retiring Chief Officer and intercepted by this paper is in the hands of some senior officers of the service.
This paper gathered that regional commanders are not happy but cannot speak out for fear of being removed from the command position to the headquarters without schedule.
