The National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha, has condemned the violent acts of some National Democratic Congress (NDC) members during the 2024 general elections.

According to him, the home of the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has been vandalized by some individuals purported to be affiliated with the NDC.

He indicated that these unwarranted attacks on some NPP bigwigs, especially those who lost their parliamentary elections, are uncalled for and do not promote peace.

Addressing the public on December 9, 2024, Mustapha warned that things will escalate if NPP members decide to retaliate, hence calling for peace.

"Madam Ursula Owusu Ekuful's house has also been vandalized in Ablekuma West a few minutes ago. Yendi is also under attack. This cannot be the spectacle. Just for what reason?

"That you have won elections so the country should flame up? We didn’t go attacking people when we won the 2020 elections in 2016. We didn’t do that. So why is the NDC subjecting us to this horror? We think that the media should take this up," he said.

Ursula Owusu lost her seat to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Rev. Kwaku Addo.

Rev. Kwaku Addo secured 31,866 valid votes, while Ursula, who also serves as the Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, garnered 26,575 valid votes.

This victory marks the end of Ursula's tenure as a legislator, a role she has held since 2012.

In the 2020 elections, Ursula polled 37,363 votes, while Rev. Kwaku Addo obtained 30,733 votes out of the 69,533 total valid votes cast.
