Use Easter to show compassion – Rebecca Akufo-Addo

Rebecca Akufo-Addo, First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo, First Lady

First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo has urged all Christians, especially those in Ghana, to demonstrate their support for the less privileged in Ghanaian society.

According to her, the resurrection of Christ has brought a new hope of eternal salvation to Christians, hence these Christians should also make it a point to show compassion to the underprivileged.

Christians the world over celebrated the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ from Friday April 14 to Sunday April 16.

In her Easter message, the First Lady said: “My fellow Ghanaians, I will like to wish my Christian brothers and sisters a Happy Easter. Christ has risen indeed. Let us use this Easter period as a renewal of our spirit. The resurrection of Christ brought new hope of eternal salvation for Christians. I will like us to renew our commitment to our country and have compassion for each other especially the less fortunate. This means that we have to dedicate ourselves in service to Mother Ghana. It also presses on us to renew ourselves mentally to work for the dream we all have. A country deserving of the name we hold in high esteem.”
