VP Lauds Kumasi Metro Assembly Boss

The Vice- President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama, has called on staff of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) and residents of Kumasi to accept change in order to catch up with the development world.

He said it is worth giving change to the opportunity to move forward.

The Veep, who was meeting with staff of the KMA as part of his visit to the Ashanti Region, commended the KMA boss, Mr. Maxwell Kofi Jumah, to the people, saying with his background, training and experience, he (Jumah) could administer the metropolis effectively well, but with the support and co-operation of all.

He stressed the need to iron out personal conflicts and take advantage of the rich experience of the new MCE.

Veep Aliu Mahama observed that Kumasi had a bigger income generation base such that when properly mobilized, KMA might even not need the Common Fund.

He said KMA as an assembly should be seen as a corporate body and work for development.

Jumah, on his part, said his priority was the development of the human resource towards building a competent and motivated team.

He said he had resorted to the use of dialogue in resolving disputes, regarding the enforcement of KMA's bye-laws.
