Preparations have reached fever pitch as the Volta Region gears up to host the 35th edition of the National Farmers Day slated for December 6, 2019.
The Ho Jubilee Park, venue for the event is receiving major facelifts with some hotels already fully booked.
The Agriculture Development Bank (ADB) is to organize a cocktail party in Ho for some industry players and stakeholders on Sunday, December 1, 2019, to set the tone for the celebration.
Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, Volta Regional Minister will also hold a welcome night party for the awardees and some other dignitaries on Monday, December 2, 2019, at his residence in honour of the awardees.
There are also plans to take the awardees to some agro-business industries in the region ahead of the main celebration to experience agrobusiness activities in the region.
The event will also include a week-long agricultural exhibition and trade fair slated for December 2, 2019, to December 6, 2019, and expected to be opened by the Vice President, Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia.
The Agricultural fair is aimed at providing the Region with an opportunity to showcase its agriculture resources and potentials.
The grand durbar and the award ceremony will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019, to be graced by the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, as the special guest of honour.
The Ghana News Agency has gathered that some stakeholders, dignitaries including some awardees have started arriving in the Regional capital ahead of the programme.
