Rev. Dr. Bishop Loyld Akwasi Annan, a roving pastor to most churches across the world has allegedly duped Vida Manu an amount of 4,800 pounds Sterling.
Vida Manu who was resident in U.K with Rev. Annan was planning to get married to him when she lost her father. According to her, because she wanted to save towards her father’s funeral, she allegedly gave him an amount of 4,800 pounds Sterling to keep in his account for her so that she could fall on it later on.
However, when the lady requested for the money, the pastor kept tossing Auntie Vida Manu and giving her evasive answers. Later, she realized that instead of 4,800 pounds it was only 200 Pounds Sterling left in the pastor’s account.
Upon their return to Ghana, she lodged a complaint at the Achimota police Station, after which the pastor was arrested and the case went to court and the pastor granted bail. There was drama however, when in a sudden twist the pastor reported the police investigator in charge of the case to the Accra Central Police station at the Regional Police Command, for allegedly having an affair with his girl friend because he saw them in the lady’s car.
When DCOP Rose Bio Atinga looked into the case, she found out that the accused had stolen the money, so he was charged with stealing and the case was brought to the court. The Lawyer of the pastor said in court that the money was given to the accused to sleep with the plaintiff and also part of the money was a gift from the plaintiff.
Meanwhile the pastor had said Vida Manu was his fiancée who had lent him 4,600 pounds to launch a book he had written.
Speaking to the Punch newspaper, he said the case before the court that he stole the money was false and stressed that because he did not marry Miss Vida Manu, she and her mother fabricated these lies against him. He explained that the reason for their separation was because, the lady demanded too much sex and as a pastor, he could not do that.
Also, the lady has certain characters which he did not like. He maintained that he still had the money in his possession and was going to pay.
