Vice President John Dramani Mahama and his family on Monday feted children from the Osu children home by providing them with lunch packs at his Cantonment official resident.
The children, who enjoyed the meals and drinks, also took time to sing and exhibit their skills in the ‘Azonto’ dance and other modern Ghanaian dances.
Vice President Mahama said his wife, Lordina, had over the past years provided similar treats to the children at the Osu children’s home, adding that, “This year round, we have decided to bring them to our residence to have some feeling of belongingness in society.”
Vice President Mahama added; “We are happy to be associated with children from the Osu children’s Home and will continue to pray and support them to become useful and responsible adults in future.
The Vice President and his family also took turns to dance, take photographs and eat with the children as part of the celebration.
Madam Sharon Abbey, Manageress of the Home commended the second family for their generosity and appealed to other individuals and groups to support them to maintain the status of the centre for future generations.**
