Veep launches 490 Yutong buses

Vice President John Dramani Mahama is expected to launch 490 Yutong buses at the Trade Fair site at La today for use by the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU). This is part of a special programme with Stanbic Bank to enhance intra-city transportation.

Government sources told Daily Post the launch of the buses is in fulfillment of NDC’s manifesto promise to make the transport sector viable, smooth and devoid of road accidents.

As a result, rickety vehicles on Ghana’s roads will be gradually phased out. The buses, to be out-doored today include both 19 and 21 seater capacities.

MESSAGE FROM YUTONG

Meanwhile, in a solidarity message, the African Division Director of Yutong Group, Robbin Shen, says Yutong, the largest professional bus manufacturer in the world are friends of Ghana.

“Our annual capacity is 50,000 units of buses, and the product line can cover the demand from five (5) to twenty-five (25) meter bus including double deck intra-city buses and coaches” he said.

“By our huge investment on most advanced production lines including the largest E-coasting painting workshops in the world, strict quality control system, national level first class R&D centre and post-doctoral work station, we can ensure the quality of our products. That is the reason why Yutong Bus’s market share is the number one in China and also tops the list in the world.

“Now there are around three hundred (300) Yutong buses running on Ghanaian roads, Yutong and our Ghanaian partners Zoomlion Ghana Limited / J.A. Plant Pool Ghana Limited have already set up our service network in all the regions. We can guarantee all the buses can be serviced in time and have stocked enough genuine Yutong parts to secure the service and maintenance demand.

“We will continue to train more qualified drivers to ensure the safe driving on the roads, at the same time we offer warranty for all our new buses. Our West African Spare Parts Centre will be located in Ghana, and we are planning to set up our assembly workshop in Ghana to offer the best intra-city buses and coaches for West Africa especially for the ECOWAS countries through help of Ghana government and our Ghanaian partners” the message added.

The message concluded by expressing its appreciation of the effort and support from Sinosure Company and Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited who have contributed to the financing facility for the 490 buses project
