A Deputy General Secretary of the governing National democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho has refuted claims that the Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur was to respond to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's 'state of Ghana's economy' at the National Theatre on Thursday September 15, 2016.
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, the deputy scribe of the umbrella family described the information as a hoax.
Social media was awash will photos of an electronic flyer which announced that, the Vice President was to address the public in reaction to Dr. Bawumia's 'state of economy'.
Mr. Amissah-Arthur addressing party supporters recently stated that Dr. Bawumia will be responded at the appropriate time.
But the Deputy General Secretary says, the Vice President will not waste his time on someone who lacks credibility, dishonest and has failed to provide the remaining 90 percent evidence over claims that the register was bloated with foreign names.
''That is not true. I ran my checks yesterday and the flyer is a hoax. The Vice President, Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur will not respond to Bawumia. Bawumia has a lot of question mark(s) on his credibility, and so i don't think the Vice President will respond to someone who has a question mark on his credibility. Bawumia has a lot to do in terms of redeeming his image...Bawumia didn't hold a lecture, it was an event to churn out false figures.''
Koku Anyidoho said immediately Bawumia finished with his false lecture, the Deputy Minister of Education, Okudjeto Ablakwa disputed claims by Bawumia that, former President Kufour constructed 36 senior high schools and so Bawumia had an event which former President Kufour who was the chairman, described as entertaining.
''We sometimes need entertainment to relieve us from stress and so nobody is taking Bawumia serious. I am not taking Bawumia serious until he comes to apologise for lying about the voters' register and wasting the nation's time with the 8 months long Supreme Court case; for creating the let my vote count alliance group. I will also not waste my time on him. He's a lair, a discredited figure, and so nobody should pay attention to him.''
Government he maintained, is investing heavily in infrastructure hence the claims by the running mate of Nana Addo, is nothing but lies meant to deceive Ghanaians. He added, the achievements of the NDC will give President Mahama victor
