Works and Housing minister-designate, Samuel Atta Akyea was vetted by the Appointment Committee of Parliament yesterday.
At the vetting Mr. Atta Akyea who is also the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South Constituency lauded the NDC government for championing infrastructure development and for continuing those housing projects left uncompleted by the Kufuor administration.
He said he will also ensure state housing projects started under the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) government are continued so as to bridge the housing gap in the country.
To address issues of housing deficit in the future, the yet to be approved ministers said he will use pension funds to leverage financing which will cushion the ordinary Ghanaian from the hardship of high interest rate in terms of mortgages.
