Accra, Nov. 5, GNA - Vice President John Dramani Mahama is expected to attend a Trade and Investment Forum in the Czech Republic on the theme, "Ghana's Discovery of Oil and Gas; Exciting Opportunities for Business."
The Forum, which would explore the overall investment climate in Ghana and the oil and gas sector, would bring together more than 100 delegates made up of government officials, policy makers, corporate executives and potential investors from both countries. A press statement signed on Friday by Mr John Jinapor, the spokesperson for the Vice President, said the Vice President would leave Accra on Sunday, November 7.
The statement said apart from looking at the prospects for Czech's engagement in Ghana's oil and gas sector, the forum would also discuss opportunities in agriculture and agro-processing and afford Ghana the opportunity to tap the expertise of the Czech Republic in those sectors. "Ghana is endowed with all sorts of resources ranging from cocoa, timber, gold and bauxite to oil and gas while the Czech Republic also possesses the technologies as well as the technical know-how to process Ghana's raw materials into finished products for the local and the international markets," the statement added.
The Vice President, who would also hold bilateral discussions with well established companies and industries as well as private business entities, would return on Friday, November 12.
