A member of the Government’s Communication Team says there is nothing wrong in dismissed former Deputy Minister of Communications, Victoria Hammah’s aspiration to be a million dollar richer as a politician.
Vicky Hammah was caught on tape telling a female friend about her desire to be a millionaire in office before “attacking” others.
"...I understand politics very well. If I haven't made a million dollars, I wouldn't go and attack people. If you have money, then you can control people,” she said on the leaked tape.
Though several people have raised eyebrows over the Minister's political objective, Fred Agbenyo says there is nothing untoward in one aspiring to be wealthy. He describes it as “ambition”.
He said during a panel discussion programme on Peace FM's flagship programme, “Kokrokoo” that the former Deputy Communications Minister only nursed an ambition and so, should not be strangled over her blabber.
In his view, everyone in life has got an ambition “some people have a goal to purchase an aircraft, others also have bigger dreams, and so, equally she must set a goal for herself”.
“In which context was that statement made. Did she say that she wants 1 million dollars in government?” Fred Agbenyo asked, stating emphatically that the statements on the leaked tape are nothing but just pure gossip.
“When you listened to the entire tape, 30 minutes 7 seconds; the only conclusion you can come to is that it’s a pure case of petty gossip... I am wondering why up till now Vic cannot come out to talk about the issue. You see, in this country…it’s as if it’s a crime now to even speak the truth,” he said.
