Victims Of "Quansah Serial Murders"

VICTOR SMITHS TRIPPED NAKED
...Over Victims Of ‘Quansah Serial Murders’: *Most Of The Murdered Women Were Identified!

The claim by Mr. Victor Smith, Special Aide to ex-President Rawlings, that most of the 35 women murdered in the 90s to the early 2000s in Accra were unidentified has been proved to be false.

This paper’s checks have revealed that IT WAS ONLY SIX PEOPLE WHO WERE NOT IDENTIFIED,. The rest 31 were identified and given a befitting burial by their families.

As captured by “Ghanaian Times” of October 4, 1999, under the headline: “Serial Killers Strike at Adabraka”, Comfort Boafo, 40, who was found dead outside House Number 302/3, Momotse Gose near the All Saints Anglican Church in Adabraka, was identified by her Uncle Mr. Francis Amehame, of Achimota.

She hailed from Amedzofe in the Volta Region but resided with her sister, Madam Mercy Mango, at La.

Comfort Boafo reportedly left home on Friday, October 3, 1999 to watch a movie at the Regal Cinema, Osu.

Madam Mango was said to have waited for her sister till 11pm to no avail and thence retired to bed. The next day, her sister had still not returned. Mercy Mango upon hearing the news of an unidentified dead lady, found at Adabraka, later in the day went to the Police Hospital Mortuary with Mr. Amehame to identify Comfort Boafo.

Another Lady, Florence Dome, who was murdered on Thursday, March 18, 1999 and her body found at Asore-danho, lived with her mother, Abena Katsekpor of House number 356/1, Asoredanho, Dansoman.

Another of the identified victims, Comfort Larbi Manko Henaku, murdered on Wednesday, April 7, 1999 at Dansoman, lived with her husband Maxwell Owusu of Wesley Grammer School, Dansoman.

Many more of the murdered women were identified. Turn to page 2 of this paper for a perusal of a list of some of the women. We, in our subsequent issues, would publish the rest.

Readers will recollect that on October 20, 1999, the former First Lady, Mrs. Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings led a demonstration of women groups to protest against the spate of killings of women which had hit Accra.

NANA KONADU AGYEMAN RAWLINGS ON THAT DAY TOLD “JOY FM” THAT: “ACCORDING TO THE IGP AND THE MINISTER OF INTERIOR THEY HAVE SOLVED ALL THE MYSTERIES BUT 7. THERE ARE 7 UNSOLVED MYSTERIES AND THESE ARE THE MYSTERIES THAT WE ARE PUSHING, SO WHEN OTHER PEOPLE GET UP AND THEY TALK ABOUT 20 SOMETHING, 30 SOMETHING, PLEASE THE TRUTH IS 7, AND THE 7 ARE AS PRECIOUS TO US AS 30 AND SO WE ARE DEMONSTRATING AGAINST THE 7 UNSOLVED DEATHS, THE 7 MYSTERIOUS DEATHS”.

The next day, Mr. Victor Smith, the ex-First Lady’s Public Relations Director issued a press release rationalizing his boss’ submission.

According to him, “THE MYSTERIES THAT THE FIRST LADY REFERRED TO IN HER INTERVIEW ARE THE MYSTERIES RELATING TO THE IDENTIFICATION AND THE MODE OF KILLING OF THE MURDERED WOMEN. THANKFULLY, THE POLICE HAVE IDENTIFIED ALL BUT FIVE OF THE SEVENTEEN MYSTERIOUS DEATHS AS AT YESTERDAY”.

He appealed “to all reporters and journalists to endeavour to cross-check or seek clarification on whatever they hear before going public with it”.

He stressed that “it is rather unfortunate that her Excellency’s comments on the murders are being misconstrued”, adding that, “Her Excellency was stressing the need for us not to politicize the matter or launch unnecessary criticism of the Police who are leaving no stone unturned in their investigations”.

According to Smith, Nana Konadu during an aborted interview with Peace FM, “had wanted to advise media houses to desist from making comments which would jeopardize efforts of the Police in solving these mysteries”.

In The Ghanaian Times of October 21, 1999 and the story headlined: “Massive Protest In Accra – by women against serial murders”, Nii Okaija Adamafio, then Minister of Interior, addressing the demonstrating women, said 12 out the 17 victims of the mysterious murders had been identified and that with the identification of the rest, the Police would be able to determine the motives behind the murders.

Despite all these facts, Victor Smith and company continue almost 10 years down the lane to insist that most of the victims of the serial murders have not been identified, presumably because of an ‘imaginary lead’ to Togo, according to the ‘Gospel of Victor Smith’.

Stay tuned for even more interesting exposures on the saga of the serial murders of women …

We begin today with the serialization of the Ghana Police CID documentation of the list of women who fell victim to the serial killer, Charles Quansah. Though 34 women had been killed in the same fashion, Charles Quansah has admitted to killing only 8 of them. Millicent Mawunya Adeku of Adenta Housing Down, Joyce Boateng of Adenta, Accra and Yaa Serwa of Kumasi were among the 8 women Charles Quansah confessed to have murdered.
