A video of some disgruntled supporters of the National Democratic Congress burning shirts of the flagbearer of the party, John Dramani Mahama, has triggered a social media banter between the spokesperson of the Bawumia 2024 campaign, Denis Miracles Aboagye, and Beatrice Annan, a member of the communications team of the Mahama 2024 campaign.
In the video, the angry youth burnt NDC paraphernalia, accusing the National Chairman of the NDC, Asiedu Nketiah, of discrimination.
Dennis Miracles Aboagye, who shared the video on his social media platform, sought to establish that the video is indicative of deep cracks within the rank and file of the NDC.
“Everybody is campaigning peacefully, you alone, go and campaign small and come, you are causing chaos amongst your own people.
“The ground isn’t good for the former President and they know it. The youth of Bawku are saying they don’t trust him and they are showing their anger. Vote against him. He is inconsistent and insincere,” parts of his statement read.
In response, Beatrice Annan chided Miracles Aboagye for seeking to use the video to, in her view, spark life in the campaign of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
She then shared a statement from the office of the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central providing explanations for the cause of the incidents.
“Masa, stop the mischief and focus on your dead campaign. These young people are only angry because they didn’t get to see their idol, the Nation Builder, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, yesterday. Their anger stems from their love for JM and not the gibberish you are writing here.
“Below is a statement addressing their concerns by the MP for Bawku Central:
“I have seen a video of some supporters of the NDC in Natinga angrily burning NDC paraphernalia. The anger of the youth stems from my inability to ensure that the flagbearer stopped at grandfather Gumah's residence in Natinga as part of his campaign in the Bawku Central Constituency,” part of the statement reads.

Meanwhile, right in their faces and in the presence of their Flagbearer, their own people are burning their posters and Tshirts.
