Vigilantism: Aggrieved party youth destroying Akufo-Addo’s dignity - NPP Treasurer

President Akufo-Addo President Akufo-Addo

The recent spate of hooliganism exhibited by some youth of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is casting a slur on the dignity of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo whom Ghanaians have reposed much confidence in to take the country to another level.

A Treasurer of Cape Coast North constituency of the NPP, Mr. Stephen Kojo Arhin popularly known in politics as Wewebi has therefore expressed disappointed about the action of aggrieved party activists who have gained notoriety in locking up state offices and chasing out District Chief Executives (DCE) and government officials.

According to him, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo who is only 10 months in office is performing marvellously earning the praise of some members of the opposition but the conduct of disgruntled party foot soldiers is giving him a bad name and taking the shine away from his good performance

Mr. Arhin who is vying as Chairman for Cape Coast North constituency in exclusive interview with mynewsgh.com, disclosed that even though the President is not involved in the lawless acts, it is incumbent on him to allow the security agencies to crack the whip and deal with any lawless party member.

The NPP leader observed that party activists do not have any power to lock up the office of DCEs or government officials and called for prosecution of such people as soon as possible to serve as a deterrent to others.

Mr. Arhin also called on all the leaders of the party to as matter of urgency sit down with such irate youth and resolve their grievances than allow them ruin what the party has collectively toiled to achieve.

“The party supporters should have some patience for Nana since he is in the processes of creating more job avenues for the youth. Even though majority of graduates are jobless, they should have hope and be patient with the president since he (Nana Addo) is working hard to address the unemployment situation in the country”, he advised

As part of measures at the local level in creating jobs for the youth, he proposed that appointees especially MMDCEs and regional ministers scout for investors to enable them create jobs in their various districts and region since Nana Addo cannot single handedly shoulder the country’s problems.
