Vocational school need to be well equipped -Minister

Sunyani, Aug 16, GNA - Mr J.H. Mensah, the Senior Minister, has expressed concern about inadequate equipment in vocational and technical institutions and said the anomaly had to be corrected.

Mr Mensah said technical and vocational education was the most important factor for every developing country and that it was important to enhance technical and vocational education.

He was speaking at the 10th graduation ceremony of the Methodist Vocational and Technical Institute (MVTI) in Sunyani at the weekend at which 45 students graduated.

Mr Mensah said the government cherished technical and vocational education and it was doing its best to improve upon such level of education.

Right Rev Kwame Omane-Achamfour, Methodist Bishop of the Sunyani Diocese, said the Methodist Church had been partner with the government towards national development and appealed to the government to establish more vocational and technical institutions.

Mr Samuel Kwebu Dadzie, Principal of the school, said the school was established in 1992 with 12 students but now has now has 149 students.
