Ho, Nov. 18, GNA- Staff of the Volta Region branch of the Centre for National Culture (CNC) have called off their indefinite strike action they embarked upon, on November 9, this year, in protest against their poor working conditions.
This follows the intervention of Management, a statement signed by Mr Francis Egbeako, the local Chairman of the Trade Union Congress, and Mr Jude Kubiti, the local Secretary, had said.
The Union set out nine conditions that should be met by the end of November to ensure industrial harmony.
These include the institution of measures to stop the persistent delays in the payment of salaries and allowances of staff and the slashing of personnel emoluments and administrative expenses, since July, 2004. The statement said the state of neglect and deprivation the Centre found itself had dented its public image.
