As the Coronavirus keeps reigning in Ghana with increasing figures, the Volta Regional Coordinating Council has taken new laudable steps to counter the spread of the deadly disease which has infected more than 400 persons in the country so far.

The region's leaders seem to be now much worried after several cases of the COVID-19 are recorded in the Eastern Region, a region which is closer to the Volta Region and sees a good number of people travelling.

In a press release which was duly signed by the regional minister, Dr. Archibald Letsa and was sighted by GhanaWeb, the Volta RCC announced the closure of a popular market in the North Tongu District and also the mounting of barriers for the screening of persons entering the region through the entry points at North Tongu, South Tongu and South Dayi districts.

The RCC also revealed that there is a standing task force that will be available at these entry points to ensure drivers adhere to directives of not taking too many passengers in their vehicles as a way of practicing social distancing as recommended.

They further admonish citizens and residents in the region to cooperate fully with the agencies during the implementation of these new measures.
