Voltic (GH) Limited has reaffirmed its commitment towards sustainable environment at the recently launched Ghana Recycling Initiative by Private Enterprises (GRIPE).

Voltic has over the years contributed towards managing plastic waste in Accra especially through the Evolve Community Recycling Programme (Evolve).

Since its introduction, Evolve has facilitated the collection of more than 41 tonnes of plastics in Accra.

Additionally, 23,000 children and households, including Voltic employees have been educated on simple ways of keeping the environment clean.

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the event, Mrs. Joyce Ahiadorme, Public Affairs and Communication Manager of Voltic stated: “This year, Voltic, in addition to the financial support towards the Evolve Project, has also donated two fully branded tricycles and a truck for the collection of plastic and other recyclables from the numerous containers spread across the capital.

She noted that Voltic’s participation in GRIPE was in furtherance of its commitment to refreshing Ghanaians every day and making the country a better place for all.

“Voltic in its quest to manage the environment will continue to leverage on the lessons from Evolve and contribute significantly to the success of GRIPE,” she said.

GRIPE is aimed at using channels such as advocacy, public awareness and multi stakeholder collaborations and implementation of second life solutions, offering the much needed sanitation redress in the country under the auspices of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI); with founding members being Voltic (GH) Limited; Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana; Dow Chemical West Africa Limited; Fan Milk Ghana Limited; Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited; Nestlé Ghana; PZ Cussons Ghana Limited; and Unilever Ghana.
