Chief of the Busuanya Traditional Area, Nana Okufo Gyabaah II, has urged the people of the Nkoranza North constituency, as well as the Ghanaian electorate, to vote for the 2016 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Akufo-Addo, in this year’s elections.

Touting the achievements of the Kufuor-led NPP government, from January 2001 to January 2009, Nana Okufo Gyabaah II stated that the creation of the Nkoranza North District, which was done by the Kufuor government, was key to the development of Nkoranza North.

“It did not end here. The construction of a police station and the extension of electricity to the district were all done by President Kufuor. If President Kufuor had not laid this solid foundation, no other person could have come to build on it,” he stressed.

According to the Busuanya chief, “we know that if Nana Akufo-Addo wins this election, Nkoranza North will be huge beneficiaries. I urge all residents of Nkoranza North to vote for Nana Akufo-Addo. He says we should try him. So let us try him by voting for him, and see what he can also do for us.”

The Busuanya Chief made this known on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, on the final day of Nana Akufo-Addo’s tour of the Brong Ahafo region, when the NPP flagbearer paid a courtesy call on him at his palace.

Nana Okufo Gyabaah II warned that “if we don’t vote for Nana Akufo-Addo, we may one day regret our actions and inactions. You may be looking for Nana Akufo-Addo at that time, and you may not find him. We hope and pray that his suffering will not be in vain.”

To political opponents of the NPP who have made it an enterprise to continuously lambast and pour invectives on the NPP flagbearer, the Busuanya Chief indicated that “the insults they pour on Nana Akufo-Addo is not one which will make me change my mind or the minds of others about voting for him. Nana, you have already been ordained President by God. What is left is for us to affirm it with our thumbs on Election Day.”

The Busuanya Chief stated that “I urge Ghanaians to take a look at their conditions of living and vote wisely. We are suffering in Ghana now, there is hunger everywhere. Even the rains are not falling, as they should.

“I have six children I am taking care of, who are in High School and Colleges. I am suffering and cannot pay their fees. Some years back, teacher training and nursing training students did not pay fees. But now, the situation is such that if you don’t have money, you cannot educate your ward. It is unacceptable. I know Nana Akufo-Addo will implement his policy of Free SHS to bring relief to all Ghanaians. We pray for victory for him so that he can help the poor.”

Present, when the NPP flagbearer called on the Busuanya Chief, was the Chief of Droman Kesse, Nana Danso Abbeam, who also assured Nana Akufo-Addo of the support of the people of his town.

“Droman Kesse is solidly behind you. We are supporting the ‘Elephant’ with our prayers,” he added.

To the MP, Major Derek Oduro, Nana Danso Abbeam noted that “at this point, you do not have the backing of a President. However, we can all attest to the work you are doing for Nkoranza North. So when you have your own President in power, the benefits that Busuanya will reap will be immense.”

The Droman Kesse Chief reiterated his support for the NPP flagbearer, praying for God’s blessings for him, stressing that “this year, victory is yours because God has already sealed and blessed it. We are just waiting for the Ghanaian electorate to affirm it on Election Day”.
