President John Dramani Mahama has told people of the Volta region to vote for NDC MPs to ensure that his government does not face stiff opposition in Parliament.
According to him, having the majority of MPs in parliament performing executive functions makes the work difficult adding that more NDC MPs must be given the nod to represent the government.
He therefore appealed to electorates of the region to vote for NDC Parliamentary candidates during the December polls.
President Mahama who was touring parts of Volta region after the launch of the NDC manifesto said having a majority of MPs in Parliament helps to drive effectively government business.
“You have to appoint ministers from Parliament and so even though you have the slim majority you still have to take ministers from parliament and at any time they are exercising ministerial duties and all that makes the work very difficult.
“And so this time I know you are going to vote for NDC, you are going to vote for me for president, but also add my MPs so that they would support me in parliament to do the work that you want me to do for you do.”
