Vote for NDC to restore justice - Rawlings

Sabronum (Ash), Dec 2, GNA - Former President Jerry John Rawlings has entreated Ghanaians to vote for Professor John Evans Atta Mills and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in order to restore justice. He said the NDC succeeded during its tenure of office because it showed a sense of justice, transparency and accountability, which protected the people who were appreciative of it.

Ghanaians, Former President Rawlings said should, therefore, return the NDC to power as a sign of self-respect and respect for the society since the NPP had eroded all the gains made by the NDC.

He was addressing enthusiastic NDC supporters at Sabronum in the Ahafo-Ano South District of Ashanti on Tuesday as part of his campaign tour.

Ex-President Rawlings said the NDC government shared development projects equitably, particularly in the area of education because they realised that all children being God's creation should be treated equally.

He appealed to supporters of the NDC to be tolerant and assist the security agencies to maintain law and order during and after the elections.

Mr Emmanuel Nti-Fordjour, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC introduced Mr Bright Simon Osei as the party's parliamentary candidate for the constituency and urged the electorate to vote massively for Professor Mils and the parliamentary candidate.

Mr Osei promised to provide the town with electricity as his first priority when elected into Parliament.
