Vote so you are not governed by fools - Mahama

President John Mahama has called on Ghanaians to go out and vote in their numbers because “the price that wise people pay for not exercising their franchise is to be governed by fools.”

Addressing the media in Bole Bamboi after casting his vote, the President noted that “everybody’s vote counts and everybody must come out and vote... so that we determine who leads this country for the next four years.”

He called on the Electoral Commission to do its best to rectify the challenges being faced by some polling stations across the country.

“In some places I hear that the materials arrived late especially Ledzokuku, Krowor. I’ve heard a lot of incidents from there and the materials came very late so some people got exhausted and left the queues and went back home. But I think whatever the problem is, they should rectify it and allow the people to continue to vote until they have all been able to exercise their franchise.”

President Mahama appealed to the voters who have decided not to vote due to the absence of electoral materials to return because the problem has been rectified.

“If you went to a polling station and materials hadn’t come, you better go back there because my information is that they have taken action and rectified the problem.”
