Voting delayed due to late arrival of material

Ajumako-Besease (C/R), Dec. 7, GNA - Voting delayed at most polling stations in the Besease Township due to late arrival of voting materials from Ajumako.

At the Methodist Polling Station with Registration Number BO50802 in the Nyantsia Electoral Area of the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam Constituency of the Central Region, the Presiding Officer, Mr Kwesi Yankson told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at 0730 hours that 53 out of the 370 registered voters had cast their vote.

Mr Fred Andor, Presiding Officer of the Methodist Primary "B" polling station with Registration Number BO5601B, said 40 out of the 518 registered voters had cast their vote as at 0740 hours when the GNA visited the station.

At the Methodist Primary "A" Polling Station with Registration Number BO50801A, the Presiding Officer, Mr Kwesi Arthur said 83 people of the 552 registered voters had cast their vote as at 0830 hours. At all the polling stations visited only the New Patriot Party (NPP and National Democratic Congress (NDC) have party agents. However the election is going on smoothly and peacefully. 7 Dec. 08
