Dr. Benjamin Otchere-Ankrah has admonished the Ghana Standards Authority to step up their efforts in ensuring the quality of goods imported into the country and in checking businesses to maintain the right standards of production.

The Ghana Standards Authority is responsible for maintaining acceptable standards for products and services and sound management practices in industries and public institutions in Ghana.

Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' morning show, Dr. Otchere-Ankrah, a Governance lecturer at Central University, bemoaned the latitude offered to some companies producing low-standard products or offering inferior services, as well as importers bringing in products that threaten the livelihood of the citizenry.

He urged the Authority to wake up and execute their duties effectively.
