Washington Mourned The Loss Of A Foot Soldier

--MR. FRED ADDAE-BOADU
The Washington, D. C. Chapter and the North America Branch of the New Patriotic Party in conjunction with the Ghanaian Community in the Washington Metro Area said final goodbye to Fred Addae-Boadu on Saturday, January 10, 2004. Fred died on December 4, 2003 at the Prince Georges Hospital Center. He was survived by his wife and children.

Mr. Addae-Boadu was a founding member of the NPP in the Washington, D.C. area, and he remained a valued member of the party until his passing away. He was one of those unselfish individuals upon whose counsel we depended to organize and structure the NPP-North America branch into the respectable and resourceful outfit that it has become today. With Fred's assistance, we were able to build stronger relations with the national headquarters of the NPP in Ghana.

The assistance provided by Fred - his time and money- was instrumental in our efforts to raise funds to assist the NPP in its electoral campaigns in Ghana, and subsequently these efforts contributed to the NPP victory in the 2000 elections, which has ushered in an era of good governance and rule of law in Ghana.

We also remember Fred for his friendly demeanor. He treated every one with respect. We could not have had a more caring and generous man in our midst.

We have lost a dear friend, an outstanding leader and a great man who inspired us to greater achievements for the party and for the country. As we prepare for the national elections this year, we will miss him dearly. However, we are comforted by the belief that Fred is in our midst, still providing guidance and direction.

MAY HIS SOUL REST IN ETERNAL PEACE.

MOHAMMED ALI IDRIS

CHAIRMAN, NPP NORTH AMERICA BRANCH
