In a dramatic turn of events in Wassa Amenfi, the Nananom of the Wassa Amenfi Traditional Council have taken significant steps to reverse a curse placed on the Electoral Commission by the Wassa Amenfi Central National Democratic Congress (NDC).
This unprecedented ritual highlights the tension surrounding the recent disqualification of their parliamentary candidate, Joana Gyan Cudjoe.
Last Tuesday, members of the Wassa Amenfi Central NDC invoked a curse against the Electoral Commission and those believed to be behind the disqualification. This action has stirred considerable controversy, prompting a swift response from the traditional leaders.
In an exclusive video obtained by MyNewsGh, the spokesperson for the elders made their intentions clear: “We will not wait for the effects of the curse to manifest before we take action. Our goal is to appease the deities and ensure peace within our community.”
The elders recognized the seriousness of the situation and the potential repercussions of the curse. They expressed their commitment to addressing the matter with urgency and respect for their traditions.
“After appeasing the deities, we will confront those responsible for the curse,” the spokesperson added, indicating a multi-faceted approach to resolving the issue.
The rituals were carried out with solemnity and reverence. Following the pouring of libation and the recitation of incantations to commune with the gods, a large ram was sacrificed as part of the proceedings.
The blood of the ram was spilled at the site where the libation was offered, symbolizing a deep connection to their ancestral beliefs and the importance of seeking divine favour.
