The chief and people of Pakyi No.1 Township in the Ashanti Region presented a ram to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to thank the president for helping the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), become the running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The chief indicated that they thought they were only going to get a minister of state, but through the help of the president, one of their own, NAPO, is a vice-presidential candidate.
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, received the ram on behalf of President Akufo-Addo.
He thanked the chief and people of Pakyi No.1 for their generous donation on behalf of the president.
Chairman Wontumi indicated that the presentation of the ram is very symbolic in Akan culture.
“The president is very grateful to you. God bless you,” the Ashanti Regional chairman of the NPP said.
