A young woman, alleged to be the traditional wife of the Omanhene of the Akuapem Traditional Area, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III, slapped a man for allegedly firing gunshots indiscriminately during a procession at the ongoing Odwira Festival in the Eastern Region.
The incident is reported to have occurred while participants were sending the Okuapehene’s food to Nsorem a traditional rite during the festival.
In a viral video, the woman is seen confronting the man, who was holding a double-barrel gun. Without any apparent provocation, she slapped him across the face.
After the slap, she was captured on video issuing a warning to the man, gesturing with her hand.
Traditional leaders present at the scene quickly intervened, confronting the woman and calming her down.
She was eventually led away while carrying the food.
The footage, which has since gone viral on social media platform X, was shared with the caption: “A traditional wife of the Omanhene of the Akuapem Traditional Area, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III, slapped a young man on the cheek for shooting unnecessarily during today's procession of sending the Okuapehene's food to Nsorem.”
