A heavily overloaded truck has been captured stuck under an overhead bridge along the N1 Highway at Dzorwulu on Saturday, December 28, 2024.
Videos of the incident capture the incident causing significant traffic congestion and have also raised safety concerns.
The development which has since gone viral on social media was first shared by popular X blogger, Sika, with a caption that read, “A road safety advocate has shared a disturbing video of a heavily overloaded truck wedged under an overhead bridge on the Dzorwulu Highway in the early hours of today.
“The incident raised concerns about authorities' negligence, posing extreme danger to road users and pedestrians despite regulations on height limits for such vehicles.”
Following the severity of the development, scores of netizens have questioned the enforcement of road safety regulations in Ghana.
It has reignited discussions about infrastructure maintenance and road safety, with many calling for stronger measures to protect lives and minimise traffic disruptions caused by preventable accidents.
