Unidentified individuals at the Ayawaso Central collation center in Accra allegedly destroyed ballot boxes following a fight at the Accra Technical Training Centre (ATTC).
Reports indicate that the incident began as a serious misunderstanding between some individuals but quickly escalated into physical violence, with the ballot boxes at the center of the conflict.
In a video circulating online, the unidentified men can be seen fighting over possession of the ballot boxes. One individual, after seizing a box, is shown stamping on it, while others in the background can be heard screaming.
The collation of results was initially scheduled to take place at the ATTC center, but the clash disrupted proceedings. Police officers intervened, while Electoral Commission (EC) officials fled with some ballot boxes in an effort to safeguard the election materials.
As of now, additional police officers have been deployed to restore order and ensure the integrity of the collation process.
