Watch how market women stormed radio station to hail teacher after DNA proved he's not the father of student's child

Eric Gyamerah maintained that he did not have sexual engagement with the girl

A teacher at the St. Peters Preparatory School at Anwiam in the Ashanti Region is claiming vindication after a DNA test proved that he is not responsible for the pregnancy of one of the students at the school.

Particulars of the case, submitted to the ‘Auntie Naa relationship court’ on Oyerepa FM by the grandmother of the girl, indicate that the young girl was discovered pregnant a few months after she came home from school.

Per the grandmother’s account, the young girl informed her that a teacher at St. Peters Preparatory School named Eric Dwamena got her pregnant after he defiled her.

“Somewhere in August, my granddaughter went there and something happened to her. She did not readily disclose to me what happened to her, but in January this year, I witnessed some changes in her and suspected that she was pregnant.

“At dawn the following day, my granddaughter, amid tears, told me that if she’s pregnant, then Eric Dwamena is responsible. So I called the parents of Dwamena and spoke with them,” she narrated.

Further information that came to light on the show indicates that the family of the girl reported the case to the police, which resulted in the arrest of the teacher.

The case was, however, withdrawn, with both families indicating their readiness for an out-of-court settlement.

During the out-of-court settlement process, the family of the girl demanded GH₵20,000 in compensation from the teacher Dwamena, who had maintained his innocence every step of the way.

After the girl delivered her baby, her family went to the famous Auntie Naa show on Oyerepa FM in Kumasi to demand the attention of Dwamena and his family and compel them to cater for the baby and the young mother.

But Dwamena, in his appearance on the show, reiterated his claim that he had not had any sexual relations with the girl, contrary to her claims.

“I have never slept with her. Her claim that I raped her was false and never happened in my life,” he said.

With Eric Dwamena still insisting that he did not father the child, the show, as part of its package, ordered a DNA test.

The result of the test, however, proved that Eric Dwamena was not the father of the baby from the young mother.
